A polymer of low concern is a polymer that we consider to be of low concern to human health and the environment because it meets all the criteria we have set. To be eligible to be introduced as a PLC, a polymer must:

  • have a number average molecular weight greater than or equal to 1,000 g/mol
  • meet the low molecular weight species and reactive functional group requirements or be a polyester manufactured solely from prescribed reactants
