Relevant industrial chemical

The total value of relevant industrial chemicals is the value you use when working out your registration level. Relevant industrial chemicals are industrial chemicals that have an industrial use and are not any of the following:

  1. a naturally occurring chemical
  2. a non isolated intermediate
  3. an incidentally introduced chemical
  4. an industrial chemical that:
    1. is introduced in goods, equipment, or a vehicle or other machinery and
    2. is only intended to be released from the goods, equipment, vehicle or other machinery for the purposes of maintaining or servicing the goods, equipment, vehicle or other machinery
  5. an industrial chemical that was released from an article that was not designed to release it
  6. an industrial chemical imported into Australia, kept under customs control and then exported from Australia within 25 days of introduction
  7. an industrial chemical imported into Australia, then exported and then imported again
  8. an industrial chemical that is introduced by an individual solely for the individual’s personal use
  9. an industrial chemical that is introduced by any of the following:
    1. by an educational institution solely for educational purposes
    2. by a not for profit entity solely for not for profit research
    3. by a charity solely for a charitable purpose
  10. an industrial chemical that is all of the following:
    1. is introduced incidentally to the carriage of passengers, or the importation of other products, on an aircraft or a ship that leaves Australia within 25 working days beginning the day the industrial chemical is introduced
    2. is used to support the operation of the aircraft or ship
    3. is not freight.
