Consultation on proposed changes to the Industrial Chemicals Categorisation Guidelines

We are seeking feedback from all interested stakeholders on proposed changes to the Industrial Chemicals Categorisation Guidelines (the Guidelines) that will come into force in September 2025.

These changes mainly relate to the list of chemicals with high hazards for categorisation (the list). This is a downloadable resource that some importers and manufacturers must use when working out their introduction category. We propose to add 120 chemicals to the list based on updates to the list sources that are identified in the Guidelines.  These additions will only affect a few introducers.

We also propose to make some minor changes and editorial updates to the rest of the Guidelines to clarify the requirements and fix some errors.
