Reporting and record-keeping obligations

Declarations, reports and records you need to submit or keep after you have categorised your introduction.

Before you read this section, you must first categorise each chemical introduction into one of the following categories: listed, exempted, reported, assessed or commercial evaluation. Read our guide to work out your introduction category.

Records to prove that you are registered at the correct level

If you import or manufacture industrial chemicals, you're legally required to register your business at the correct level.

Pre-introduction reports - reported category

You must submit a pre-introduction report before you import or manufacture chemicals in the reported category.

Annual declaration for all introducers

At the end of every registration year, you need to submit an online 'annual declaration' to confirm that your chemical introductions were authorised under the law.

Exempted introduction declarations

For some types of exempted introductions, you must submit a once-off post-introduction declaration by 30 November each year.
