Before you apply
- Check that it has been less than 5 years since we issued the certificate - if 5 or more years have passed, the certificate has likely expired. Contact us if in doubt.
- Check that there is no early listing in the Inventory related to your certificate - if an early listing has been granted, the certificate has expired.
Who can submit this application?
The person or business that wants to be added as a certificate holder must submit the application via the AICIS Business Services. Each assessment certificate holder must provide a signed consent form to agree for the person or business to be added as a new holder.
Once you are added as a certificate holder, you have the same rights and obligations as the other holders and can lawfully introduce the chemical within the terms of the assessment certificate.

After you submit your application
Once we have processed your application we will notify you that you have been added as a certificate holder. We will also notify the other certificate holders of the change.
Anyone added as a certificate holder must understand their compliance obligations.
How to submit your application
You must submit your completed application with signed consent forms from all existing certificate holders in AICIS Business Services. You must provide us with all the information we ask for so we can process your application.

Step 1
Download the application and consent form. Fill out the required information. Click File > Save to save as a PDF and select a location for the file. You do not need to sign the application if you submit it through your own AICIS Business Service account.
Step 2
Log into AICIS Business Services with your username and password, or create an account if you do not have one.
Note, this step must be done by the person or business requesting to be added as a certificate holder.
Step 3
Select the ‘Other applications’ tab, then select ‘create a new application’. From the picklist, select ‘Add a certificate holder'. Next select the business contact and application contact from the picklist.
Step 4
If you do not have the AICIS assessment certificate number (example CERT1234), you need to ask for this information from one of the existing certificate holders.
If an existing certificate holder does not have the AICIS assessment certificate number, they can contact us and quote or select 'Assessment certificate' as the topic. We can then provide it to them.
Go to the ‘Invoice’ tab to pay the fee. You can then proceed the application by clicking on the ‘Upload form’ tab.
Step 5
Select ‘Upload form’ tab and upload your saved application and any supporting documents, if required. Note, you must upload a signed consent form from each certificate holder. We cannot process your application if any consent form is missing.
Step 6
Once the other sections are complete, select the 'Declaration' tab. Check the declaration box and click on 'Submit application'.
Note if you want to be removed as a holder of an assessment certificate and you are the only certificate holder – you need to apply to cancel a certificate on this page.

The certificate holder who wants to be removed as a certificate holder. You must submit your application via the AICIS Business Services.
Once we remove you (your business) as a certificate holder, you can no longer introduce the chemical into Australia under the certificate.

If you do not have the AICIS assessment certificate number (example CERT1234), contact us and quote or select 'Assessment certificate' as the topic. We can then provide it. There is no fee for this application. You are not required to provide any information in the ‘Invoice’ tab. You can proceed the application by clicking on the ‘Upload form’ tab.
