When do I renew my registration

If you are continuing to import or manufacture industrial chemicals, you must renew your registration by 31 August each year.

If you continue to introduce industrial chemicals but renew after the 31 August deadline, you may be liable to pay a penalty.

Information you will need

To renew your registration, you’ll need to know:

• the value of the industrial chemicals you imported or manufactured (‘introduced’) during the previous financial year
• if you are a foreign (non-Australian) businesses - you’ll need an Australian Registered Body Number (ARBN)

You can base the total value on reasonable estimates.

As a guide to determining the value of your chemicals, you could use relevant commercial documents such as commercial invoices, orders or confirmations, airway bills, insurance certificates or receipts for purchase of goods.

You must keep records of how you made your calculations. Registrants are subject to random audits and it is an offence to provide false or misleading information.

You must keep all relevant commercial documents for at least 5 years. Read more about your compliance requirements and your reporting and record-keeping requirements.

How to renew your registration

Step 1: Log in to your AICIS Business Services account with your username and password. Click on the ‘Registration’ tab, select the registration period (e.g. 2021-22) and click on ‘Register now’.

Step 2: Enter the value of the industrial chemicals you imported and/or manufactured during the previous financial year (1 July – 30 June) in $AUD. Confirm your information is true and correct, then click on ‘Submit’.

Step 3: Click on the ‘Payments’ tab. If you want to pay your registration fee by credit card, use the ‘Pay’ button. If you want to download your invoice and get the details for other forms of payment, use the ‘Download’ button.

Step 4: Once we process your application, you’ll receive an email and will be able to download your new registration certificate from AICIS Business Services. Your registration remains in effect until 31 August each year.
